Piping
All boiler systems require a substantial amount of piping to transport various fluids including but not limited to high pressure steam, boiler feedwater, boiler blowdown, fuel gas, ammonia, turbine supply & exhaust steam, and deaerator pegging steam. To comply with ASME codes, Halgo Power designs and certifies to ASME B31.1 Power Piping and ASME B31.3 Process Piping requirements. The scope and extent of the piping offered will vary for each project, but each piping solution will be custom designed and engineered for any boiler application and can include pipe stress and support point analysis.
B31.1 Power Piping
Most piping attached to and immediately surrounding the boiler falls under the ASME B31.1 Power Piping category. Following the comprehensive B31.1 ASME specification allows the Halgo Power team to design safe and reliable power piping systems including but not limited to steam piping, superheater piping, and economizer piping that are certified to meet the regional regulations of each customer. Depending on the application, specific sections of the B31.1 code will be followed to offer a unique job-specific solution.
B31.3 Process Piping
Most ancillary piping systems supporting boiler functionality that do not fall under ASME B31.1 Power Piping code are categorized under the ASME B31.3 Process Piping code. The ASME B31.3 Process Piping standard is most commonly used in refineries and petrochemical plants. Piping systems in this category include but are not limited to fuel gas, blowdown tank, chemical feed and lube oil skid piping. Halgo Power custom designs and engineers ASME B31.3 Process Piping systems uniquely for each project, abiding by the appropriate code sections required for the application.
